Beim Ausstoß der schwedischen Garagenrock-Legende THE NOMADS könnte man sich dumm und dämlich sammeln, graben, wühlen. Alles prima, keine Ausfälle – und das seit 1981! Dennoch schlug ich bisher nur dreimal zu, immer aus hochspeziellen Gründen:
Die 1994er „(I’m) out of it“ (Estrus Records) MUSSTE ich einfach haben: Das Cover zeichnete PETER BAGGE, dessen „HATE“ ich damals heiss liebte und verschlang.
„In a house of cards“ (Label: Sympathy for the record industry) von 2001 war natürlich ein Pflichtkauf, coverten die NOMADS auf der B-Seite „think of as one“, von ROKY ERICKSON. Eine zu Herzen gehende und sehr ungewöhnliche Wahl!
Facebook weckte das Bedürfnis, die 2016er Splitsingle mit den MAHARADJAS haben zu wollen. Ein Chaputa!-Double Feature. Die MAHARADJAS sind super. Die Gestaltung der Doppelsingle im Foldout-cover einfach aberwitzig. Könnte ich stundenlang betrachten, das Ding aus dem Sumpf.

I guess I will use this as a starting point für collecting THE NOMADS outpout a little deeper from now on.
